It consists of two major resource databases: ep.Knowledge for the person who needs access to key areas of E&P technology while performing a job, and ep.Learning for the person who wishes to pursue a learning plan at his or her own pace. ep.Learning includes over 225 learning programs that will appeal to wide audiences - from non-technical personnel, to the new and experienced technical specialists. The content, which was develop in an alliance with 10 major and national oil companies, consists of over 110 hours of award-winning video, 11,000 pages of text and 17,000 graphics. BOSTON, MA. - September 21, 2000: IHRDC today announced a very impressive schedule of both new and proven energy management programs to be offered in Boston, Houston and other locations during 2001. "Our energy management programs focus on both the business fundamentals and continuous changes that are occurring in the converging oil, gas and power business" said Dr. David Donohue, President of IHRDC. "We find it necessary to add new programs annually to keep up with the rapid pace of change in the our industry. All of our 2001 scheduled programs are a response to that need." Abu Dhabi, UAE June 2000: IHRDC successfully installed its web-based IPIMS Knowledge and Learning System for ADMA OPCO, ADCO, and ZADCO. This competency-based system will aid in the development of young UAE nationals to replace expatriots as part of UAE's strategy for nationalizing the workforce. Abu Dhabi, UAE June 2000: IHRDC is currently assembling available information and practices followed by the Oil Industry in Abu Dhabi. Based on these resources and advances in technology and operational safety practices, IHRDC will produce a comprehensive Oil Spill Contingency Plan for implementation by the Abu Dhabi Oil Industry. Damascus, SYRIA March 24, 2000: IHRDC completed an agreement with Al Furat Petroleum Company (an association between Shell International and Syrian Petroleum Company) to design, develop training materials, and train fresh graduates and existing Syrian staff (junior and senior) to become competent field operations and maintenance specialists. The purpose of this three-year program was to develop local nationals to replace expatriate personnel working for Al Furat. IHRDC, with the support of Al Furat personnel, developed all of the training materials in its Cairo office and employed up to 24 instructors (OJT instructors and advisors) on a full-time basis in the Al Furat Training Center in Der Ezzour. The training programs included Background Science, Operations and Maintenance Technology, and very comprehensive On-the-Job Training materials which included Task Checklists, Trainee Diaries, and Task Detailing Manuals from which trainees were certified to perform jobs at the required competency levels.
